Tarpley was stellar for West Virginia earning the victory over the Kansas City Royals' affiliate team, the Lexington Legends. At one point retiring 9 consecutive batters, the lefty went six innings and allowed one run on five hits while striking out a season-high eight batters. He improved his record to 7 wins, 2 loses and 2 no-decisions while dropping his ERA to 2.29. Tarpley has now amassed 54 strikeouts to 17 walks over 61 innings of play.
