Stephen exited the game with 2 outs in the top of the 7th with bases clear and game tied at 3. His record remains at 5 wins and 3 loses. Bradenton would go on to snap their 4 game losing streak with a 5-4 victory over Palm Beach in the bottom of the 11th. Stephen Tarpley went 6 innings in a rain interrupted game to pick up his 5th season win in front of his home crowd.
Tarpley gave up one run in each of the first two innings before the rain hit. After play resumed, Stephen and his teammates caught fire. His offense spotted him a 3-2 lead in the 3rd and that proved enough. On the night, Stephen went 6 innings yielding 3 runs on 7 hits while walking 1 and striking out 6 en-route to victory.
